Basseterre, St. Kitts (July 24, 2018) -The St. Kitts and Nevis Patriots are focused on winning this year’s edition of the Caribbean Premier League (CPL) T20 competition. This was communicated by second-year team manager, Peter Abraham Jr., ahead of Team Patriots’ training camp at their home ground, in Basseterre, St. Kitts.
“We are hoping to do one better than last year, which means that we are hoping to win the championship for the first time. We are hopeful, we are excited, we are energetic and, most importantly, we are ready! We have an experienced squad with some youth, which I think is critical for T20 cricket,” Abraham Jr. confidently expressed.
The Patriots are being coached by former West Indies coach and all-rounder, Phil Simmons. Simmons is particularly known for leading the West Indies team to an historic second T20 World Cup Championship, in 2016, against all odds.
As the first professional franchise for St. Kitts and Nevis, the Patriots team features seven international players to complement its regional superstars. These international cricketers include Nepalese Sandeep Lamichhane, Indian Ibrahim Khaleel, Australian Ben Cutting, New Zealander Anton Devcich, Zimbabwean Graeme Cremer, Netherlands player Tom Cooper and Bangladesh player Mahmadullah Riyad.
